About the Founder

Leibl Cohen fell in love with artistic roller skating as a child and carried that passion into his early adult life. When he was diagnosed with cancer years later, he returned to the rink—not for medals, but for mental clarity and joy. Skating gave him purpose beyond the diagnosis.

To his surprise, his talent quickly drew attention. Soon he was back in competition, earning medals at local, regional, and national events—even as recently as age 75. Through determination and passion, Leibl redefined what was possible.

“Cancer Can’t Catch Us” was born from this journey. It’s more than a fundraiser—it’s a fusion of Leibl’s fight against cancer and his lifelong love for skating.
